  • Founder & Managing Partner

    Phil Coomes is the Founder and Managing Partner of AdAstra CFO. He is a finance operator who has managed capital at the highest levels of the climate and software industries.

    Before founding AdAstra, Phil served as the Finance Controller for North America at Climeworks, the global leader in Direct Air Capture (DAC). There, he acted as the Project Controller for "Project Cypress," a first-of-its-kind carbon capture plant with budgeted expenditures exceeding $1.2 billion.

    Previously, Phil served as Controller for Breakthrough Energy, the network of climate technology organizations founded by Bill Gates, where he led financial operations for five consolidated legal entities. His background also includes technical accounting leadership at PayScale (SaaS) and global internal audit at Expeditors International (Fortune 500 logistics).

    Sandy brings years of experience in diplomatic settings and missions serving with the U.S. Department of State. Sandy holds both a Bachelor of Science in Finance, and Accounting - and is a core part of our accounting practice, engineering financial operating structures that suit our clients’ needs.
